Family Frolics: Fun with Thomas the Tank Engine

Thomas the Tank Engine himself tours the country and a few times a year he comes in our direction. This Bank Holiday weekend he came to a steam railway called Colne Valley and so we pack up a picnic and set of on a trip to see ‘Sodor’ and Thomas’ team of engines.

Well ‘sizzling cinders’, it was a smashing day. I cannot begin to describe the excitement of the three children from the moment they woke up. I was impressed that each child was given a goodie bag as they went in, which meant we could bypass the souvenir shop, and we took a  ride ‘First Class’ as we booked the tickets in advance on Thomas himself and then later had another ride on a little train. We admired the model railway, investigated the post train, had faces painted and enjoyed a picnic.

Here is our day in photo’s for you!

I would love to see what you have been up to this week!

Having multiple toddlers is tough! I know I have to keep up with them everyday so I’ve always tried to make my health a top priority. It’s hard to find time to workout as a mom, but if you start the habits while you’re still pregnant, they will carry over into your schedule after your little one is born. You might be too tired in the 1st trimester, but you’ll want to start a pregnancy fitness program and make plans to transition into 2 week postpartum workout after you’ve recovered from delivering. A lot of people don’t realize that it doesn’t take much time to workout and stay healthy while pregnant with a second trimester hiit workout. Besides, it gives you an excuse to go shopping for post pregnancy workout clothes!

Looking forward to reading your posts.

thats so funny, we must go to all the same places, I wonder if we have ever crossed paths. Goblin loves Colne Valley railway, but we haven’t been to the Thomas ones – we tend to go on wet weekends when no one else is there.

You all look like you had tons of fun with Thomas. We went to The Day Out With Thomas last oct here with our boys and we all had fun! It didn’t have all the other cool trains you all had. Thanks for sharing your outing-frogs and snails and puppy dog tails

Reading your posts is like a trip down memory lane for me, we did Thomas days and they were always a winner, especially the Fat Controller! Looks like your 3 loved it every bit as much as mine.
